1. Different operation principle between globe valve and gate valve
When the globe valve is opened and closed, it turns on the hand wheel, the hand wheel will rotate and lift together with the valve stem, while the gate valve will turn the hand wheel to lift the valve lever, and the position of the hand wheel itself remains unchanged.

The Rubber seated gate valve has only two states: full opening or full closing with long opening and closing time; the movement stroke of the globe valve is much smaller, and the valve plate can be parked in a certain place in motion for flow regulation, while the gate valve can only be cut off with no other functions.

2. Performance difference between globe valve and gate valve
The globe valve can be cut off and used for flow regulation. The fluid resistance of the globe valve is relatively large, and it is difficult to open and close, but because the valve plate is short from the sealing surface, so the opening and closing stroke is short.

The BS5163 gate valve can only be fully opened and closed. When it is fully opened, the flow resistance of the medium in the valve body channel is almost 0, so the opening and closing of the gate valve will be very easy, but the gate is far from the sealing surface, and the opening and closing time is long.

3. Installation flow direction difference of globe valve and gate valve
Resilient gate valve flow to both directions have the same effect, the installation has no requirements for the import and export direction, the medium can flow in both directions.

The globe valve needs to be installed in strict accordance with the direction of the valve body arrow mark. There is a clear stipulation about the inlet and exit direction of the globe valve, and the valve “three to” stipulates that the flow direction of the stop valve is used from top to bottom.

4. Structural difference between globe valve and gate valve
The structure of the gate valve will be more complex than the globe valve. From the appearance of the same diameter, the gate valve should be higher than the globe valve, and the globe valve should be longer than the gate valve.
