Precautions for the installation of check valves

Check valves, also known as check valves or check valves, are used to prevent the backflow of media in the pipeline. The foot valve of the suction off of the water pump also belongs to the category of check valves. The opening and closing parts rely on the flow and force of the medium to open or close by themselves, so as to prevent the medium from flowing backwards. Check valves belong to the automatic valve category, which are mainly used on pipelines where the medium flows in one direction, and only allow the medium to flow in one direction to prevent accidents.

According to the structure, the check valve can be divided into three types: lifting check valve, swing check valve and butterfly check valve. Lifting check valves can be divided into vertical check valves and horizontal check valves.

There are three types of swing check valves: single-lobe check valves, double-flap check valves and multi-flap check valves.

The butterfly check valve is a straight-through check valve, and the above check valves can be divided into three types: threaded connection check valve, flange connection check valve and welded check valve.

Attention should be paid to the following matters in the installation of check valves:

1. Do not make the check valve bear the weight in the pipeline, and the large check valve should be supported independently so that it is not affected by the pressure generated by the pipeline.

2. During installation, pay attention to the direction of the medium flow should be consistent with the direction of the arrow voted by the valve body.

3. The lifting vertical flap check valve should be installed on the vertical pipeline.

4. The lifting horizontal flap check valve should be installed on the horizontal pipeline. What is a vertical check valve? Vertical check valves are widely used in systems where it is necessary to prevent the backflow of media, such as the outlet of the pump, the hot water replenishment end, and the suction end of the centrifugal pump. Its function is to prevent the consequences that may occur from the backflow of the medium, for example, if the outlet of the pump is not equipped with a vertical check valve, the high-speed return water will cause a huge impact on the impeller of the pump when the pump suddenly stops; If a vertical check valve (foot valve) is not installed at the suction end of a centrifugal pump, the pump needs to be filled every time the pump is turned on.
