Leakage fault and elimination method after installation of the soft seal butterfly valve in the middle line

The inner sealing of the concentric line soft seal butterfly valve D341X-CL150 relies on the seamless contact between the rubber seat and the butterfly plate YD7Z1X-10ZB1 , and the valve has a two-way sealing function. The stem sealing of the valve relies on the sealing convex surface of the rubber seat and the rubber O-ring to eliminate the direct contact between the medium and the valve body stem, so as to prolong the valve life on the basis of ensuring the sealing performance.
Every soft seal butterfly valve product that leaves our factory has been pressure tested to ensure that it is qualified to leave the factory.
In the actual sales process, the leakage of factory-qualified soft seal butterfly valve MD371X3-10QB  products after installation on the pipeline occasionally occurs, and the reasons for the leakage and the elimination method are summarized as follows:

First, the inner seal leaks.
The main reasons:
1. The pipeline was not cleaned before the butterfly valve was installed, and after the butterfly valve was installed, the residual impurities in the pipeline wore out or blocked the butterfly valve sealing ring and butterfly plate, resulting in seal leakage.
2. Because the sealing contact surface of the soft seal butterfly valve is very narrow, when the worm gear is not debugged in place, the butterfly plate and seal closing position of the butterfly valve are not in place, and there is a slight deviation. When the factory pressure test is qualified, a small amount of leakage may occur when installed on the pipeline.
3. After the butterfly valve leaks, the scene does not take correct investigation measures in order to respond to emergencies, resulting in damage or jamming of valve parts.
Solution(s):
1. The pipeline is not cleaned: the valve is fully open, the pipeline is cleaned, and the butterfly valve is opened and closed three to five times during the cleaning process, and it is not fully closed at this time. After cleaning, the butterfly valve is fully closed for testing and troubleshooting, which can basically eliminate the fault.
2. If the butterfly plate and seal closing position are not in good shape: re-debug the worm gear and adjust the limit screw of the worm gear switch to achieve the correct closing position of the valve.
3. If the parts are damaged: replace the spare parts or return to the factory for repair.
Second, the flange face or upper seal leakage.

The main reasons:
1. The failure or aging of the rubber seal ring of the upper seal leads to the leakage of the upper seal.
2. The pipeline pressure exceeds the valve sealing pressure limit, resulting in the leakage of the upper seal.
3. When the butterfly valve is installed, the center is asymmetrical, and the medium penetrates into the contact surface between the valve body and the valve seat, resulting in leakage on the flange side.
4. The flange is not properly selected or installed, resulting in leakage of the flange surface.
Solution(s):
1. Failure or aging of rubber sealing rings: Polymer valve sleeves can be added by adding or replacing sealing rings.
2. The pressure exceeds the nominal pressure of the butterfly valve: reduce the pressure of the pipeline or replace the type of valve that can withstand the pressure.
3. The medium penetrates into the contact surface between the valve body and the valve seat: adjust the symmetry of the center of the butterfly valve and evenly lock the bolt.
4. It is recommended to use a special flange for butterfly valve for clamping soft seal butterfly valve, and no flange metal gasket is required.
